Job Description
Daily Concrete Quality Control
- Monitor daily slump tests, workability, temperature, and strength development trends.
- Ensure accuracy of batching operations including moisture adjustment, calibration, and mix proportioning.
- Verify compliance with technical specifications, standards, and project requirements.
- Conduct cube sampling, curing, testing verification, and maintain accurate laboratory records.
Site Quality Issue Troubleshooting
- Respond to on-site concrete quality issues such as slump loss, segregation, setting problems, pumpability, or low strength.
- Perform on-site inspection during pouring, placement, and pumping activities.
- Provide immediate decision‑making on corrective actions and mix adjustments.
- Liaise with customers, site engineers, and supervisors to ensure issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
Raw Material Quality Monitoring
- Inspect and verify quality of sand, aggregates, cement, GGBS, admixtures, M‑sand, and other supplementary materials.
- Conduct routine checks for moisture content, mud content, and gradation.
- Track supplier performance and elevate inconsistent material quality to management.
Mix Design and Technical Support
- Assist QAQC Supervisor in mix design development, optimization, and cost‑improvement initiatives.
- Conduct trial mixes, evaluate performance, and recommend mix adjustments based on site feedback.
- Analyse cube test results, identify trends, and provide technical recommendations.
Quality Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare daily quality reports including slump data, test results, site issues, and corrective measures.
- Manage NCR (Non‑Conformance Reports), CAR (Corrective Action Reports), and PAR (Preventive Action Reports).
- Support third‑party audits, green certification (e.g., SGBC), and customer documentation requirements.
- Ensure all QAQC procedures and SOPs are implemented consistently.
Cross‑Department Collaboration
- Work closely with Batching Plant In‑Charge, Operation Supervisor, and drivers to ensure stable production output.
- Coordinate with Sales teams on technical queries and customer project requirements.
- Support QRQC, TPM, and continuous improvement activities across the organization.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Construction Technology, or related fields.
- No experience in QAQC for ready‑mixed concrete or construction materials industry are encouraged to apply.
- Fresh graduate are encouraged to apply.
- Hands‑on knowledge of concrete testing, mix design fundamentals, and raw material properties.
- Experience in laboratory operations, cube testing, and batching plant operations is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
- Able to work independently at job sites and make quick technical decisions.
- Familiar with industry standards (e.g., MS EN, ASTM, BS standards).
- Good communication skills for customer‑facing technical discussions.
- Proficient in reporting, documentation, and data analysis.
Work Conditions
- Based at batching plant and laboratory; frequent site visits required.
- Must be able to work under pressure and tight timelines.
- Ability to work extended hours when required due to site conditions.
