Job description

At Lam Soon Edible Oils, we don’t just meet standards; we set them. We are seeking a meticulous and strategic QA/QC Manager to take full ownership of our quality ecosystem. This is a role for a technical expert who thrives on precision, from raw material arrival to final product dispatch.

The Mission: Total Quality Integrity

As the QA/QC Manager, you are the final gatekeeper. Your objective is to design, implement, and enforce a robust Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS) that adhere compliance with global regulations and exceeds customer expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Systems Architecture & Regulatory Compliance
    • Framework Management: Develop and maintain the integrity of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 standards.
    • Global Standards: Ensure 100% compliance with local and international bodies including FDA, USDA, EU, MDA, and MOH.
    • Audit Leadership: Act as the Lead Liaison for all internal, third-party, and customer audits. You will be responsible for the end-to-end audit lifecycle, from preparation to the closure of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
    • Sanitation & Hygiene: Oversee the efficacy of facility-wide sanitation, personal hygiene protocols, and pest control programs.
  • Technical Oversight & Quality Control
    • Laboratory Excellence: Supervise a team of specialists conducting microbiological, chemical, and sensory testing on raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
    • Process Control: Establish rigorous sampling plans and in-process monitoring to ensure every batch meets precise technical specifications.
    • Non-Conformity Resolution: Lead high-level investigations into production deviations and customer complaints using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurrence.
    • Culture Transformation: Mentor and train the QA/QC team to move beyond "policing" and toward a proactive "quality culture."
    • Cross-Functional Synergy: Provide technical guidance to R&D and Production teams, ensuring quality is integrated into product development and manufacturing workflows.
    • Training Strategy: Identify competency gaps and execute an annual training plan to strengthen technical skills across the organization.
  • Data Analysis & Performance Reporting
    • KPI Management: Track and report on critical metrics including compliance rates, audit findings, customer complaint trends, and recall prevention.
    • Documentation Mastery: Ensure all certifications, test plans, and defect tracking records are audit-ready at all times.
Education & Experience
  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related technical field.
  • Industry Tenure: 5–8 years of progressive experience in QA/QC, with a strong preference for candidates from the Margarine or Edible Oils sector.
  • Certification: Proven expertise in FSSC 22000, Halal standards, and regulatory navigation (FDA/USDA).
  • Mastery of laboratory testing protocols (microbiological and chemical).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in Quality Management Software and documentation tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills for government and regulatory liaison.
  • A proactive mindset focused on risk mitigation and preventive measures.
  • The ability to manage high-pressure deadlines and multiple competing priorities.
