Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Malaysia is looking for a QA/QC specialist to ensure the quality and compliance of earthing and lightning protection system installations. The ideal candidate will implement quality control procedures, conduct inspections, and coordinate with various teams to address any quality issues. A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required, along with proven experience in QA/QC inspections preferably within the construction industry. Certification in quality management systems is a plus.

Job description

Ensure the quality and compliance of our earthing and lightning protection system installations.

Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, conducting inspections.

Verifying that all work is performed according to approved shop drawings and industry standards.

Develop and determine all standard to perform inspections and tests on all procedure, oversee all testing methods, and maintain high quality standards for all processes.

Review the quality of all materials at the site, ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality, and collaborate with the team members.

Supervise the effective implementations of all test and inspection schedules, ensure adherence to all procedures, and coordinate with various teams to perform quality audits on processes.

Monitor an efficient system, record all projects activities, and analyze all processes to ensure all work meets quality requirements.

Manage all work methods, maintain knowledge of quality assurance standards, monitor continuous applications for all quality assurance processes, and recommend corrective actions for all operations.

Test plan and checklist based on project specifications.

Liase with the Technical Engineer for submission of material submittals to the Consultant.

Coordinate with the Consultant’s representative and Site-In charge for inspection.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for QA/QC documents of the complete project, including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent material delivered, and other important QA/QC documents.

Review and understand project specifications, shop drawings, and quality control plans related to earthing and lightning protection systems.

Develop and implement QA/QC procedures and inspection checklists to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Conduct regular inspections of earthing and lightning protection system installations at various stages of construction.

Verify that all materials and components used in the installations meet specified requirements and standards.

Monitor and document installation activities to identify any deviations from approved drawings or quality control plans.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to address any quality issues or non-conformities identified during inspections.

Perform tests and measurements to validate the performance and effectiveness of earthing and lightning protection systems.

Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and documentation to track quality control activities and compliance with project specifications.

Participate in project meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues and ensure timely completion of installations.

Qualifications

Education : Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience : Proven experience in QA/QC inspections and quality control procedures, preferably in the construction or electrical industry.

Certification : Certification in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
