Company overview

Career Horizons is collaborating with a Retail Group, one of the largest FMCG in the region with operations in Southeast Asia. Armed with exciting plans to expand and transform their business, they are looking to employ a skilled Purchasing Manager to join their team in Kuala Lumpur.

The new role
  • Manage procurement process from purchase requisition, issuance of purchase order and process payment upon request.
  • Assist commercial team on sourcing matters and negotiation with vendors to obtain best quotes and prices and procure for new products developments and existing products.
  • To forecast, plan, execute, monitor deliveries and control the purchasing activities and inventory level according to the company policy and procedure.
  • To study and analyse the purchasing trend to ensure that it contributes continue saving to the company.
  • Suppliers’ negotiation in services, performance, delivery, quality, payment term, service and gain cost effective in purchasing.
  • To address and resolve situation such as supply chain shortages, allocations, material discrepancies and to ensure contingency plan or alternate sources of supply is available.
Requirements to succeed
  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in the related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years’ procurement experience as a Manager in similar field.
  • Able to execute task based on the Company’s Leadership Principles.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English & proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia are required.
  • Result-oriented & skilled in developing business plans while initiating the changes necessary to achieve strategic objectives in competitive global markets.
