Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated track record of securing favorable terms and pricing from vendors.
  • Proficiency in vendor management, including vendor selection, performance evaluation, and relationship building.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices, including inventory control and logistics.
  • Experience in cost reduction initiatives and a proven ability to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, managing time effectively and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local market conditions and supplier landscape in Shah Alam and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, evaluating their performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and improved service levels.
  • Implement and maintain an efficient inventory control system to track stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure timely availability of materials for ongoing projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules, while mitigating potential risks and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, providing timely and accurate information on material availability, pricing, and lead times.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, materials, and technologies that can enhance the company's design and construction capabilities while reducing costs and improving efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions to proactively identify potential risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate negative impacts and capitalize on favorable conditions.
