A leading automotive company in Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage supplier relationships, process purchase orders, and ensure cost optimization. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience, ideally in the automotive or manufacturing sector, and possess strong communication skills in English and preferably Mandarin. Chery Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. – Petaling

Responsibilities
  • Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, qualify, and develop new suppliers within Malaysia and the Southeast Asia region. Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
  • Procurement Execution: Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and diligently track orders to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze costs and conduct effective negotiations to achieve the best total cost of ownership while maintaining quality standards.
  • Supply Coordination: Work closely with internal teams (Planning, Production, Quality) and suppliers to ensure a smooth supply chain flow and resolve any delivery or quality issues.
  • Data & Contract Management: Maintain accurate procurement records and assist in managing supplier contracts.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Mandarin language skills are a distinct advantage for liaising with our headquarters and Chinese partners.
  • Solid understanding of procurement principles, supplier management, and cost analysis.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a strong team player with high integrity.
