A leading resources management company in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Purchasing Specialist to source and manage suppliers, ensuring compliance with Malaysian standards. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain, with at least 3 years of experience in purchasing operations. Proficiency in Mandarin is essential for liaising with suppliers in China and Taiwan. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with good knowledge of ERP (preferably SAP) are required for success in this role.
Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers to secure the best pricing, terms, and timely deliveryof materials.
Ensure purchased items comply with Malaysian standards and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and submit applications to:
Ensure timely renewal and tracking of all relevant certificates and licenses.
Maintain proper filing and documentation for all regulatory submissions and approvals.
Liaise with testing labs, consultants, and government officials where required.
Support internal and external audits related to product compliance and import controls.
Create Purchase Orders and Material Master.
Manage shipment arrangements from issuance of Purchase Orders to arrival atwarehouse/site.
Degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain or any related field.
At least 3 years of experience in purchasing operations will be preferred.
Mandarin proficiency (written/spoken) is essential for liaising with China/Taiwan based suppliers.
Strong analytical, communication skills & attention to details.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities & meet deadlines.
Good knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
