Job summary

A manufacturing company is seeking an experienced procurement specialist to manage supplier relationships, oversee inventory control, and ensure optimal stock levels. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in procurement within relevant industries and be proficient in languages necessary for liaising with suppliers from China. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for handling purchase orders and documentation effectively. This position is based in Klang City, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing/procurement/sourcing in manufacturing or trading.
• Proficient in languages to communicate with Chinese suppliers, handling documentation.
• Experience dealing with Chinese suppliers is a strong advantage.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Monitor order status and follow-up with suppliers to resolve shortages, quality issues or delays
• Coordinate with inter-departments to ensure new product is sent to the laboratory for inspection and approval.
• Stock Control — Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability
• Analyse stock movements and trends to forecast demand and adjust inventory levels
• Follow up the complaint of products and replacement
• Prepare Stock Requisition Form, Conversion Requisition Form
• Key in GRN in system when goods received
• Update closing stock summary to account department
• Sourcing — Source new suppliers, especially from China, and evaluate pricing, quality and reliability
• Prepare Product Development Form and Vendor Profiles for new suppliers and items
• Communicate and negotiate with overseas suppliers on pricing, lead time, specifications and documentation
• Others — Compute MSP for trading items
• Prepare ISO reports (Approved Supplier List, Supplier Price Confirmation List for Top 10 Suppliers, Vendor Performance Evaluation Form)

Qualifications

Requirements
