A manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a professional to manage purchasing and inventory operations. Responsibilities include handling incoming materials, updating inventory records, coordinating closely with warehouse and production teams, and conducting supplier evaluations. The ideal candidate will oversee MRP processing, support delivery scheduling, and contribute to process improvements while ensuring compliance with company policies. This role is crucial for optimizing inventory levels and minimizing carrying costs.
This position shall work in relation to purchasing, ensuring that inventory levels are optimized to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs.
Manage incoming materials, stock control, and production planning activities.
Update inventory records and prepare accurate monthly inventory reports.
Coordinate closely with Warehouse and Production to ensure smooth material flow.
Monitor stock levels, identify shortages, and take proactive action to prevent disruptions.
Oversee MRP processing and ensure timely planning for production needs.
Support delivery scheduling and ensure materials arrive according to production timelines.
Handle PO processing and follow up with suppliers for inventory-related items.
Conduct price comparisons and perform basic negotiations to support cost-saving initiatives.
Assist in new sourcing development and evaluate suppliers for quality, cost, and reliability.
Prepare purchasing reports and perform data analysis to support decision-making.
Lead supplier performance reviews to ensure consistent quality, on-time delivery, and service improvements.
Ensure all activities comply with company policies and ISO requirements.
Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness
