Job summary

A leading luxury resort in Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing Officer to maintain professionalism in purchasing activities and manage vendor relations. The candidate will oversee the procurement process, maintain accurate orders, source quotations, and ensure compliance with company procedures. Minimum qualification is SPM or Diploma in Business Administration or related field, with 1-2 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is essential for success in this role.

Job description

The Kasturi is a five-star low-density luxury resort in Cherating, Pahang. Situated on the northern tip of Chendor Beach with 800 metres of seafront, the 15‑acre coastal forest site is designed to attract guests seeking a premium hospitality experience that connects to nature and environment.

The resort is laid out along the beach with most being individual chalets, each with a private pool and deck. A principal objective was to afford unimpeded sea and forest views to every chalet. The solution is a linear development along the beach with the main facilities at the northern end of the site.

Job Description:
  • Maintains professionalism in the purchasing function and ensure proper upkeep of the purchasing office.
  • Maintains accurate records of orders placed and register of capital assets.
  • Monitors expenditures and prepares monthly expenditure summary reports.
  • Sources for quotations and best prices from vendors. Keep relevant departments updated on any price fluctuation.
  • Monitor the issuance of purchase order (PO) by the purchasing assistant in a timely manner and maintain the numbering and effective record system for all purchase orders.
  • Ensure all company policy on purchasing procedure is adhered to when performing work task. Maintain the highest level of integrity and honesty.
  • Review and select supplier fairly based on item specification requirement and price offers.
  • Practice open tender concept for newly acquired product.
