A children's apparel company based in Johor, Malaysia, is seeking a dedicated individual to manage fabric orders and supplier communications. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of fabric types and garment construction. Responsibilities include issuing purchase orders, tracking delivery schedules, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. A degree in textile technology, fashion, or related fields is essential, along with strong communication and analytical skills. This role is vital for maintaining efficient production timelines.
Issue purchase orders (POs) for fabric and general item and follow-up on order acknowledgements and confirmations from suppliers.
Plan and place bulk fabric orders in accordance with approved production schedules and timelines.
Monitor and track delivery schedules of bulk fabric shipments to ensure on-time arrival.
Verify the accuracy of shipping documents, invoices, and payment-related documentation.
Track fabric test reports and sample submission timelines to ensure compliance with requirements.
Coordinate with logistics teams on inbound shipment tracking.
Evaluate supplier performance based on delivery punctuality, cost efficiency, responsiveness, and service quality.
Reporting & Escalation: Report directly to the HOD and coordinate with relevant stakeholders regarding potential delays, implementing corrective actions to protect on-time delivery.
Work closely with suppliers to resolve fabric quality issues and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare, update, and maintain regular reports on fabric delivery status, and testing results.
Perform other ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior to support departmental needs.
Basic understanding of fabrics, trims, and garment construction.
Familiarity with purchase orders, supplier communication, and costing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of ERP or sourcing software is an advantage.
Strong communication and coordination skills for dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
Good analytical and organizational abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling data and documentation.
Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.
Candidate graduated from textile technology, fashion & apparel, supply chain management, procurement, business administration and or related field.
