Job summary

A leading energy technology company in Malaysia is looking for a Sales Proposal Engineer to support global sales efforts. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with sales teams, providing technical and commercial support on electrical products including switchgear and transformers. Candidates should have a strong background in electrical engineering, preferably with experience in the marine industry, and must be proficient in power studies using tools like DigSilent or ETAP. This role involves direct client interaction, ensuring technical solutions meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Profound knowledge on complete electrical scope is key.
• Able to perform power studies using DigSilent or ETAP.
• Good knowledge on SLD and layout engineering is a must.
• Previous experience in engineering or technical sales support preferred.
• Experience in the marine industry is an advantage.

Job description

You are responsible for providing the global sales teal proposal support, coordinating responses with customers, and providing technical guidance on Siemens-Energy products with a focus on power generation projects. You will be working in a global team of proposal engineers and communicate with different operations as needed on products quoted.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Working closely with Sales team to provide technical and commercial support on a range of Electrical/electrification products products:
• Finding solution and sizing for Switchgear, Transformer and bale to read SLD
• Completing cost sheets and working with sub vendors as needed for buy out item costings
• Review/comment customer specifications related to the Electrical Solution. Coordinate specification review with sub suppliers as necessary
• Generate Technical and Commercial proposals for customers
• Propose Electrical Solution for customer that are in Marine, FPSO and Industry
• Create hand over documentation for the operations after award of project
• Familiar with reading and understanding SLD or other related drawings
• Attend Customer Technical Clarification meetings as support to Sales & Proposal Team as necessary
• Support Engineering team as & when required for Clarification / open points during project execution.
• Able to find the solution for the client , proposed and not only bid

What You Bring

• Profound knowledge on complete scope for Electrical Scope as supplied to onsite power generation is key.
• Able to perform power studies using DigSilent or ETAP will be added advantage
• Good knowledge on SLD & Layout Engineering of Electrical House plant is must
• Previous experience in Engineering or Technical Sales Support role for Electrical Scope is preferred.
• Experience in the Marine Industry or E-House fabrication will be added advantage
• Must be technically sound to face Customer directly.
• Proven track record of winning electrical proposals
• Good team lead. Multitasking & should be able to work & perform under time pressure
