Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and delivering large-scale construction projects valued. This role requires strong technical engineering knowledge, robust business acumen, and the ability to drive project success from planning to completion. The Project Manager ensures all project activities adhere to contractual requirements, regulatory standards, budget allocations, and company objectives.

1. Project Planning & Execution
  • Lead the full project lifecycle: project initiation, planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, timelines, resource plans, procurement plans, and risk registers.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, authorities, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Ensure all works comply with engineering standards, design specifications, authority approvals, and safety requirements.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans.
  • Monitor expenditures and implement cost-control measures to keep the project within approved budgets.
  • Evaluate and approve variations, claims, and progress payments.
3. Contract & Stakeholder Management
  • Review contract documents, technical specifications, and project deliverables.
  • Lead progress meetings, technical coordination meetings, and negotiations with clients, consultants, and vendors.
  • Ensure contractual obligations, timelines, and quality standards are met.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis for issues affecting cost, time, and quality.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid project delays or cost overruns.
5. Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to ISO standards, industry regulations, local authority requirements, and company SOPs.
  • Monitor quality of work onsite and coordinate with QA/QC teams.
  • Establish and enforce safety management plans (OSHA, CIDB, QESH standards).
  • Lead multi‑disciplinary project teams, ensuring peak performance and clear accountability.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members, including site managers, engineers, and supervisors.
  • Foster a collaborative, results‑driven project culture.

Note: The duties listed are not exhaustive and may vary as dictated by the changing needs of the Company. As such the post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate and as requested by his/her manager within his/her scope of practice.

Formal Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Business, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (added advantage).
