Job Title: Project Manager – Equipment Installation (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and execute Equipment installation projects within semiconductor backend and frontend manufacturing environments. The Project Manager will work closely with engineering, installation teams, facility owners, and global equipment suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with factory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project planning, scheduling, and execution for equipment installation projects.
- Develop detailed project timelines, installation plans, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with customer engineering, facility, and operations teams to plan line shutdown, access control, and installation windows.
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning (T&C), and handover.
Technical & Engineering Coordination
- Review mechanical, electrical, and structural design / drawings, steel support structure, power distribution, and communication interface.
- Verify installation compliance with SEMI standards, safety guidelines, and OEM specifications.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers, engineering contractors, and system integrators.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as the main liaison between customer, contractors, OEMs, and internal management.
- Conduct regular project meetings, progress reporting, and issue escalation.
- Manage vendor performance, including installation teams, rigging, and M&E contractors.
Safety, Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with CIDB, DOSH, factory EHS requirements, and cleanroom protocols.
- Oversee risk assessments, method statements, job safety analysis (JSA), and tool calibration compliance.
- Maintain complete project documentation including installation reports, T&C sheets, and as-built drawings.
Budget & Cost Management
- Prepare project budgets, CAPEX/OPEX estimates, and cost control plans.
- Track expenses, variation orders, and resource usage to ensure financial alignment.
Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields).
- CIDB Yellow Book / Site Safety Supervisor certification is an added advantage.
- PMP certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience in semiconductor equipment, AMHS/OHT installation, factory automation, or industrial M&E projects.
- Hands-on experience in cleanroom installation or technical integration projects.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor factory protocols, AMHS layout, and OHT system components.
Skills
- Excellent project scheduling (MS Project, Primavera) and documentation skills.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise contractors working at height, in cleanroom, and during night shifts.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle high-pressure installation windows.
