Job summary

A company in industrial automation is seeking a candidate for executing and completing industrial automation projects, control system, and digitalization. The role involves liaising with clients and vendors, maintaining schedules, procuring materials, and ensuring project costs remain within budget. A degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or relevant discipline is required, along with skills in PLCs, SCADA, and project management. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to travel are essential. The position is based in Selangor, Malaysia.

Overview

You will be responsible for executing and completing a range of industrial automation, control system, and digitalization projects, as well as providing after-sales support, all under the supervision and guidance of a senior engineer or/and project manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Study project specifications to understand customer requirements.
• Liaise with customers, vendors, and principals to address technical and commercial issues.
• Maintain project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
• Procure project materials, equipment, and manpower on a timely basis.
• Control project costs to minimize non-conformance expenses.
• Develop engineering and software designs based on project specifications and generate all associated documentation.
• Perform in-house testing and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
• Site deployment and installation, and system testing and commissioning.
• Perform on-site troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs of systems, equipment, and installations.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Education & Experience

• Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or other relevant discipline.

Skill/Knowledge & Requirements

• Knowledge in PLCs, SCADA/HMI, DCS, and industrial networks and control system design.
• Experience with industrial digitalization projects: IIoT platforms, MES, data historians, data management applications (i.e. MDM, LIMS, etc.), IT/OT cybersecurity, and cloud-based analytics and solutions.
• Familiarity with C++, .NET, C#, JavaScript, and experience in project management will be considered an advantage.
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn new knowledge and the ability to acquire new skills as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to resolve issues efficiently, with strong problem-solving skills that include anticipating, identifying, and addressing challenges independently.
• Given the project-driven nature of the role, candidates must be capable of working under high pressure and willing to work irregular hours when necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for meeting and reports writing.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (onshore and offshore).
• Valid driver’s license.
