Job summary

A subsidiary of a major group is looking for a project coordinator in fire protection. The role requires managing the full lifecycle of projects, ensuring installation meets standards, and communicating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate should possess 1–5 years of experience in project engineering or coordination, a degree in engineering, excellent planning and coordination skills, and a valid driving license. This position may require frequent travel for site checks and meetings.

Reports To: Project Manager

Role Summary

Manage the full lifecycle of fire protection projects—from the moment sales secure the order until final handover. This role is project coordination–focused, ensuring that installation and testing & commissioning works done meet Firerex standards, project timelines, and customer expectations.

The ideal candidate excels in coordination, communication, and ensuring all stakeholders — contractors, consultants, internal teams, and customers — work together for a smooth and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Project Coordination
  • Take over project ownership from sales once job is confirmed.
  • Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure all activities meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate installation and T&C activities to meet technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, system design, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare project documentation required for execution and handover.
  • Contractor Management
  • Plan, assign, and supervise work carried out by project teams
  • Ensure all teams follow Firerex’s quality, safety, and workmanship standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and workmanship quality.
  • Resolve contractor issues promptly and elevate when necessary to avoid delays.
  • Review contractor claims, work done, variations, and verify before submission.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular site coordination meetings with contractors, consultants, and end‑users.
  • Provide timely progress updates, technical clarifications, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage customer expectations and resolve project‑related concerns professionally.
  • Cross‑Department Collaboration
  • Work closely with design, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure smooth material, drawing, and communication flow.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and verify on‑site quantity and condition.
  • Provide technical updates to sales for new opportunities or variations.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate site reports, progress updates, photos, test results, and material logs.
  • Prepare final handover documentation including T&C reports, manuals, and sign‑offs.
  • Manage and submit Variation Order (VO) requests when scope changes occur.
Requirements
  • 1–5 years of experience in project engineering, coordination, or site management (preferably in fire protection, M&E, or construction).
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields
  • Experience in managing contractors is highly preferred.
  • Strong coordination, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Good communication skills with confidence in handling customers and contractors.
  • Organized, responsible, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willing to travel frequently for meetings, inspections, and site checks.
  • Possesses a valid driving license.
