Job summary

A leading construction firm in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee day-to-day construction activities. The role requires more than 7 years of experience in project management, strong knowledge of landscape construction, and proficiency in project management tools. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills and be fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia. The position also requires the ability to read technical drawings and have own transportation.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day site construction activities for construction projects


• Ensure on-time progress of works according to the project schedule


• Monitor and control project costs, materials usage, and labour efficiency


• Check and verify subcontractor claims and material deliveries


• Prepare and present weekly/monthly progress reports and updates


• Liaise with consultants, clients, local authorities, and subcontractors on site matters


• Ensure all work complies with design drawings, specifications, and safety regulations


• Coordinate inspections, handover processes, and defect rectification works

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, or Construction Management


• More than 7 years of experience in construction project management


• Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods: hardscape, softscape, turfing, irrigation, etc.


• Excellent skills in project scheduling, cost tracking, and site coordination


• Able to read technical drawings and construction plans


• Strong communication and leadership skills


• Proficient in MS Project, AutoCAD, and MS Excel


• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia


• Must have own transportation (car required)
