The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the development, initiation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and reporting of activities relevant to the IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation Programme. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Director/Deputy Director and in close coordination with representatives from the Member Countries, IMT-GT stakeholders, and international development partners to ensure that the programme objectives and milestones are met.
Under this temporary appointment, the Project Coordinator will also provide technical and coordination support for the development of the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2027–2031, which will serve as the medium‑term strategic framework guiding subregional cooperation for the 2027–2031 period.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2027–2031, including:
- Coordinating with IMT-GT National Secretariats, Working Groups, and key stakeholders (JBC, UNINET, CMGF) to ensure inclusive participation and alignment throughout the process;
- Compiling and reviewing existing IMT-GT strategic documents, sectoral reports, and progress assessments under IB 2022–2026 to identify lessons learned, gaps, and opportunities for 2027–2031;
- Supporting CIMT in designing, organising, and documenting national and subregional consultation workshops with IMT-GT stakeholders;
- Consolidating inputs into the Draft Implementation Blueprint 2027–2031, ensuring alignment with the IMT-GT Vision 2036, and relevant ASEAN sectoral and strategic plans;
- Supporting the refinement and finalisation of the IB 2027–2031 document based on feedback from Member Countries, and IMT-GT stakeholders.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement programme and project activities, including site visits, training, meetings, and consultant/vendor‑related work (e.g. drafting Terms of Reference, tendering, proposal review and selection processes)
- Monitor and analyse programme/project implementation, including progress, budget utilisation, and achievement of key indicators; and ensure timely, high‑quality reporting and documentation (e.g. annual reports, case studies, lessons learned, and best practices)
- Prepare technical and communication materials such as reports, briefing notes, press releases, presentations, and other outputs for internal and external stakeholders
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in international development, public policy, development economics, international business or related fields;
- At least 3 years of working experience in programme/project management or coordinating the implementation of development cooperation programmes/projects. Working experience in international organisations is a plus.
- Skills and Competencies
- Strong experience in two or more of the following: project management, program design and implementation, M&E, ASEAN/national policy processes and interagency coordination;
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and organise data;
- Ability to communicate programming concepts into clear, concise written documents and strong attention to detail;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English;
- Self‑motivated and ability to work independently and in a team in a multicultural environment;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work efficiently within strict deadlines;
- Strong organisational, problem‑solving and time‑management skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Proficiency in standard computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Google Workspace);
- Ability to travel.
