Position Overview

Saora is seeking a mission‑driven Program Coordinator who is proactive, creative and able to support the design and execution of Saora’s programmes. The Program Coordinator will be required to support all aspects of Saora’s programmes, such as infrastructure, education and socioeconomic programmes.


Details of the Position

Employment Type: 2‑Year contract with option to extend


Starting Salary: RM3,500 per month upwards, depending on experience


Hybrid work arrangement


Statutory EPF and SOCSO contributions


Discretionary bonus (subject to individual and organisational performance)


Key Priorities and Responsibilities for the Role


  • Assist/Lead Programs – Design and Execute programs in either rural villages or urban setting.

  • Community Engagement – Build strong relationships with community members to ensure program acceptance, participation, and sustainability.

  • On‑Ground Implementation – Conduct site visits, recce trips, and oversee installations or activities related to projects.

  • Versatile Project Delivery – Be adaptable to implement and manage a variety of impact‑focused initiatives (e.g., water systems, solar lighting, livelihood projects and education programs).

  • Stakeholder Coordination – Liaise with clients, partners, government agencies, and vendors to ensure smooth execution and alignment of project deliverables.

  • Budget Management – Prepare and manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects are delivered within approved financial parameters.

  • Expected to think ahead, anticipate needs, and suggest better ways of organising work — not just wait for instructions.

Other Requirements:



  • Diploma or higher level education.

  • Desirable: Prior experience working with social enterprises and/or NGOs.

  • Willingness to travel within Malaysia, with all costs claimable from Saora.

  • Willingness to work on weekends and nights when required, with replacement leave provided.

  • Standard office hours, with occasional evenings/weekends for events or site visits (time off in‑lieu as appropriate).


Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer/Head of Department
