Job summary

A leading semiconductor firm in Penang is seeking a Production Test Engineer to optimize test processes and develop new product test programs. This role demands a BS or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and strong knowledge in analog and digital circuits. Excellent communication skills in Chinese and English are essential. The candidate should be willing to undergo training in Chengdu for two months each year. Experience in power IC testing would be a plus.

This position focuses on production test engineering in the power management integrated circuits area (Consumer, Industrial, and Automotive ICs). You will be required to deeply utilize analog and digital circuits, programming languages, and statistics to conduct diverse R&D projects involving hardware, software, and procedures, aimed at ensuring the quality and cost optimization of production testing, and ultimately maintaining and strengthening the competitiveness of our products.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize production test cost, efficiency, capacity, and smoothness by diverse approaches, including but not limited to test time optimization/reduction, multisite test solution development, test platform transfer, and test process simplification.
• Study, design, and debug hardware and test programs for new product test development and qualification, covering new products, spin‑offs, product revisions, fab transfers, and assembly transfers.
• Analyze, optimize, and develop component‑level circuits and test programs (mainly based on C/C++) for precision parametric measurements of analog and mixed‑signal ICs, and accordingly dispose of risky production‑tested chips and test systems.

Requirements

• BS or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Micro‑Electronic, Automation, Instrument Science & Engineering, or a related field.
• Good knowledge of analog/digital circuits and programming languages (minimum C; preference for C++).
• Good communication skills in Chinese and English (reading & writing).
• Willingness to go to MPS Chengdu office for training twice a year (2 months/year in MPS Chengdu); the first training when on board will be 6 months in MPS Chengdu.
• Working experience in power IC testing area is a plus. Familiarity with lab electronic instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, power source, etc.) is a plus.
