1.0 PURPOSE
The Production Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing production plans and schedules that align demand, capacity, and material availability. This role focuses on optimizing machine utilization, coordinating with procurement and logistics to ensure uninterrupted production flow, and meeting delivery, cost, and quality targets. The Production Planner applies strong analytical skills and SAP planning tools to translate demand and inventory data into actionable production schedules while ensuring adherence to operational and quality standards.

- The Production Planner reports to Plant Manager, Malaysia.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Develop and Maintain Production Schedules
- Create daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on confirmed customer orders and plant capacity.
- Convert planned orders and schedule production orders in SAP (PP module).
- Align schedules with available resources (machines, manpower, and materials).
- Maintain and update capacity planning data; ensure feasible and stable schedules.
- Minimize unplanned changes and ensure all plans reflect machine and material readiness.
- Monitor production adherence and adjust schedules based on real-time conditions.
2.Inventory & Material Control
- Ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to support continuous operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure SAP data accuracy (MM/WM modules).
- Coordinate stock transfers between internal plants when needed.
- Support inventory cycle counts and accuracy improvement initiatives.
- Monitor material consumption trends and trigger replenishment proactively.
- Investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
3.Cross-Functional Coordination
- Production: Collaborate in terms of machine scheduling, downtime handling, and efficiency improvements.
- Procurement: Ensure timely material availability and alignment with forecasts.
- Logistics: Collaborate in terms of shipment planning, dispatch readiness, and delivery commitments.
- Warehouse: Coordinate on stock receiving and issuing, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, variance investigation, and storage optimization to prevent loss, theft, and errors.
- Quality: Partner on incoming material inspection, quarantine and release status, label integrity.
4.Data analysis on demand forecasts and historical data
- Analyze demand forecasts and historical consumption trends to improve planning accuracy.
- Use Excel, SAP, and Power BI to generate dashboards and operational reports.
- Analyze capacity and identify bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
- Monitor KPIs including production adherence, scrap rate, service levels, and inventory accuracy.

The Production Planner is responsible for translating customer demand and forecasts into feasible production plans and schedules. The Production Planner coordinates closely with production, procurement, logistics, quality, and customer service to manage constraints, prioritize orders, and continuously improve planning accuracy, service levels, and operational performance.
PROFILE
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain operations, production planning, or SAP system support.
- Proficiency in SAP (PP/MM/WM modules).
- Strong Excel capabilities (pivot tables, lookup formulas, data modeling).
- Working knowledge of Power BI (data modeling, dashboards, visuals).
- Knowledge of inventory control and supply chain fundamentals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and process-driven.
