Overview

We are hiring for our commercial team in Malaysia and looking for a Product Specialist based in Kuching to drive sales and market growth for our innovative pharmaceutical products. This role will be based in Central, covering the territory of Central, Sarawak and Sabah states.

Job Description

Sales and Marketing:

  1. Achieve the sales targets for the assigned territory.
  2. Educate and update the healthcare providers in both the public and private sectors about the products assigned through product presentations, utilizing existing marketing materials such as detailing aids, PowerPoint slides, product and/or lecture videos, etc.
  3. Organize and participate in marketing activities such as Continuing Medical Education (CME), Roundtable Discussion (RTD), workshops, seminars, conferences, booth exhibitions, etc.
  4. Conduct a minimum of six (6) CMEs and two (2) RTDs per quarter.
  5. Execution and implementation of planned strategies in the field to increase market share and product adoption.
  6. Provide timely feedback, insights and recommendations on market and competitor intelligence regularly or upon request.

Customer Relationship Management:

  1. Build and maintain strong rapport and close working relationships with healthcare providers in the assigned territory.
  2. Act as a primary point of contact for healthcare providers, providing timely and accurate information.
  3. Identify and build Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the assigned territory to increase share of voice, brand presence, product endorsement and product usage.
  4. Identify and follow up on new leads within the assigned territory.
  5. Achieve a minimum daily call rate of 8 calls per day.
  6. Achieve the required call rates for customers in Categories A, B and C:
  7. Category A: local specialists, to visit twice a month
  8. Category B*: outstation specialists, to visit once a month
  9. Category B: medical officers, to visit once a month
  10. Category C: purchasers/pharmacists, to visit bi-monthly.

Reporting and Conduct:

  1. Timely submission of required reports and/or information such as Pre-Call Plan, Post-Call Report, Territory Analysis, Territory Action plan, Sales Forecasts, Monthly Sales Report and Meeting Decks, etc.
  2. Ensure the execution of the sales and marketing activities in compliance with company policies and local regulatory standards.
  3. Adhere to company rules and regulations, employee handbook, and travel and entertainment policies.
  4. Demonstrate professional working ethics, be respectful and positive, collaborate effectively, and continue to strive for professional development and excellence.

Requirements
  • Trilingual proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Malay will be an advantage.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and managing customer relationships within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Sound understanding of hospital and clinic operations, coupled with exposure to sales and marketing strategies.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Adaptable to dynamic business environments and evolving strategic directions.
  • Possesses a relevant diploma or degree in Medical Sales, Pharmacy, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Additional Information
  • Two rounds of interview: The first round shall be via zoom by the Human Resources & Business Manager and the onsite final round by Regional Country Manager at the Subang office.
