A leading company in photonics, located in Penang, seeks a skilled engineer to manage the product life cycle and enhance yield performance. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in photonics or related fields, with a strong knowledge of LED and laser processes. Responsibilities include improving product yields and leading quality assurance efforts. Qualifications

• Min 10 years of experience in the photonics/optoelectronics industry or related products.
• Min 10 years of working experience in Product Engineering, Development, or Characterization.
• Experience leading engineers and technicians is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage Product Life Cycle and improve yield data.
• Work with engineering and production teams to achieve yield targets.
• Lead/support on quality issues and product traceability.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible & Manage Product Life Cycle. Knowledge & Technical Know-How on IC, laser, photo diode will be an added advantage.
• Responsible for product yield data, yield data analysis, yield target setting and forecast yield setting.
• Overview of product status, early involvement in R&D new release product to ensure no manufacturing/production spill.
• Drive & work together with Process Engineering/Chip Change/Production team on product yield improvement activities to ensure product yield target is achieved.
• Responsible for the update/revise of product BOM, new product setup, product accounting standard, product flow chart & product failure catalogue and PFMEA.
• Participate & support in the change project activities, such as chip change/phase in, new derivative products and etc.
• Drive/participate in productivity improvement projects.
• To be responsible for Failure Bin Analysis maverick procedure, maverick lot disposition and drive for improvement – machine over reject, invalid improvement, process or chip related issues.
• To lead/support internal/external quality issues: To support & involve on product traceability (Backwards/Forward), material traceability, process traceability, machine traceability, panel traceability and etc, support risk assessment, shipment halt activities and etc.
• To coordinate yearly reliability monitoring submission.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree in Material Eng/Mechanical Eng/electronics Eng/Physics/Manufacturing Eng.
• Min 10 years of experience in the photonics / optoelectronics industry OR handling high-speed transmitter / receivable or related products are acceptable.
• Min 10 years of working experience in Product Engineering, Product Development or Product Characterization on related field
• Experience & ability to lead engineers & technicians will be an added advantage.
• Able to communicate effectively with various group of people (non-reporting team members).
• Strong knowledge on photonics/optoelectronics & LED/Laser Characteristic and the electronics.
• Good knowledge on LED/Laser Manufacturing Process, LED/Laser Testing Concept, Minitab, 6 Sigma Tools.
• Strong details & Strong Analytical Skills, Systematic 8D problem solving, Planning & Organizing Skills, Project Management Skills.
