A leading company in procurement is seeking an experienced professional to lead procurement strategies and supplier negotiations in their Kuala Lumpur office. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management and at least 7 years of relevant experience in the automotive or manufacturing sectors. Key responsibilities include developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and monitoring performance through KPIs. Strong analytical and negotiation skills are essential for success in this role.
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or equivalent.
At least 7 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in automotive, manufacturing or engineering environments.
Experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation, cost control and procurement operations.
Exposure to contract review and coordination with legal or compliance teams.
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Good analytical skills with the ability to manage cost, budgets and data effectively.
Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the business objectives, budget requirements and operational needs.
Source, evaluate and manage suppliers to ensure reliable, cost-effective and sustainable supply for commercial vehicles and passenger cars.
Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and dealers, coordinate contract review with Group Legal to ensure compliance and alignment with company policies and requirements.
Create and manage purchase orders, delivery tracking and verify invoices and payments to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
Analyse purchasing trends, identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality or service.
Plan and coordinate logistics and distribution activities to ensure timely delivery to meet customer requirements.
Monitor supplier performance through defined KPIs and conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to service level agreements and quality standards.
Act as the key liaison between suppliers, dealers, internal stakeholders and Group Legal on procurement‑related and contractual matters.
Lead and guide the procurement and logistics team, providing guidance, direction, and coaching for efficient and effective operation.
Develop and manage procurement‑related budgets and provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
Work closely with internal stakeholders such as production, sales, finance, and after‑sales teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment with business priorities.
Carry out any other duties related to procurement and logistics as required by management.
