Job summary

A leading electrical and machinery company is seeking a Procurement Executive to oversee sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of procurement experience in construction and possess strong negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and procurement systems is required. This role demands the ability to work independently under pressure and an understanding of procurement SOP. Willingness to travel to sites is also necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–3 years experience in procurement, preferably in construction/M&E/data centre/civil works.
  • Familiar with construction materials, M&E equipment, and site procurement workflow.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and service vendors.
  • Monitor delivery timelines and follow up closely with vendors.
  • Maintain and update the Approved Vendor List (AVL).

Job description

Position: Procurement Executive

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement & Sourcing
    • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and service vendors.
    • Obtain competitive quotations and ensure cost-effective purchasing in line with project budgets.
    • Prepare and issue Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) according to company SOP.
    • Monitor delivery timelines and follow up closely with vendors to avoid project delays.
    • Maintain and update the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
    • Conduct vendor evaluation, performance review, and ensure compliance with company requirements.
    • Establish long-term supplier relationships to support project needs.
    • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, QS, and Store Teams to understand material requirements.
    • Plan materials based on project schedules and site progress.
    • Coordinate logistics, delivery arrangements, and ensure materials reach site on time.
  • Cost Control & Documentation
    • Compare quotations, prepare cost analysis, and assist management in decision-making.
    • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, invoices, and delivery orders.
    • Ensure all purchases are aligned with project budget and cost-control guidelines.
  • Compliance & SOP Adherence
    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with ISO standards, CIDB requirements, and company procurement policies.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing proper documentation.
Requirements
