A manufacturing company based in Kajang is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing and stock activities efficiently. This role involves overseeing raw material procurement, ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, and maintaining supplier relationships for timely delivery and cost optimization. The ideal candidate should possess a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a related field, with 2–5 years of experience in procurement within the manufacturing sector. Attention to detail and proficiency in inventory management are essential.
This position is accountable for the Purchasing & Stock related activities/ matters at Jemco. PE is responsible for ensuring that the Purchasing, Stock (Raw Material) & Government related data is fully implemented in an organized and efficient manner. This position is to work closely with Purchasing Manager/ Operation Manager/ Production Teams/ Finance Manager/ CEO
Generate/ prepare slitting schedules with Slitting Division and/ or Outsourced services based on requisition-forecasts and inventory levels.
Prepare/ validate slitting coil dimensions and tolerances, aligning with Production requirements
Manage all purchasing activities, ordering raw materials (Mother coils, Tubes/ Pipes) as per approved Order Requirements
Review, negotiate pricing, and issue Purchase Orders (POs) internally or with suppliers, ensuring cost optimization and timely delivery of materials.
Select, evaluate, and build strategic relationships with suppliers for consistent quality and reliability.
Prepare and submit monthly purchasing reports, including coil-tube(s) procurement analysis.
Verify Goods Received Notes (GRN) against Delivery Orders, with specific checks on slit coil accuracy.
Ensure all transactions are fully documented, including MILL Certificates where applicable.
Maintain physical and system accuracy of raw material stock in the Dedicated Inventory System.
Conduct regular physical stock checks for coils (pre- and post-slitting), identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Prepare and submit monthly closing stock reports for raw materials inventory
Ensure compliance with deadlines and regulatory requirements across purchasing, slitting, and inventory processes.
Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by top management, including slitting-related improvements or audits.
Prepare monthly report for the requirement of Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW).
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Materials Management, or related field
2–5 years of experience in procurement, or raw material management in manufacturing
Proficient in inventory management systems and stock tracking
Experienced in procurement, supplier coordination, and cost optimization
Able to verify Goods Received Notes (GRN) and ensure documentation compliance
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently or with teams
