Job summary

A leading cruise company in Johor Bahru is seeking a Procurement Specialist to oversee sourcing and supplier management for food and beverage, hotel, and operational supplies. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably within the cruise or hospitality sectors. Responsibilities include preparing purchase orders, maintaining procurement records, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. This full-time role may require occasional travel to onboard vessels.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in cruise, marine, or hospitality operations.
  • Exposure to sourcing, supplier management, purchase orders, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers for F&B, hotel, and operational supplies
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders; follow up to ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier information
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate with onboard and hotel teams to meet operational needs
  • Support negotiations on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Track market trends, availability, and supplier performance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, and maritime regulations
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
