Process Engineer Senior Executive (Preferred Mandarin Speaker)

As a Process Engineer (R&D), you will be responsible for supporting design, scale‑up and optimization of manufacturing processes for personal care, baby care, and skincare formulations. You will work closely with R&D chemists, production and quality teams to ensure smooth transfer of laboratory formulations into efficient, high‑quality and cost‑effective large scale production processes.

A solid understanding of formulation principles and raw material functionality is essential to ensure smooth process transfer, batch consistency, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for process engineers with a technical background who enjoy hands‑on problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Development & Scale Up
    • Translate lab formulations into scalable production processes with robust process parameters (mixing order, time, shear, temperature, viscosity control, etc.).
    • Conduct pilot trials and factory‑scale validation runs to ensure consistent quality and performance.
    • Analyze production challenges, recommend corrective actions, and refine process steps for improved yield and stability.
  • Formulation & Raw Material Understanding
    • Collaborate with R&D chemists to understand formulation intent, ingredient functionality, and processing sensitivity.
    • Apply formulation knowledge (emulsifiers, thickeners, surfactants, humectants, actives) to determine optimal mixing and heating methods.
  • Production & Process Optimization
    • Support day‑to‑day manufacturing issues related to mixing, filling, and product consistency.
    • Recommend process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
    • Collaborate with Production Engineering and Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and parameter accuracy.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Prepare and maintain detailed SOPs, manufacturing procedures, and production validation reports.
    • Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO standards, and company quality policies.
    • Maintain technical documentation for audits, regulatory submissions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with chemists, QA/QC, production teams to ensure successful product scale‑up and commercialization.
    • Provide technical training and guidance to operators and line leaders to ensure adherence to process parameters.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Educational Background – Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Industry Experience – 2–3 years of experience in process development, manufacturing, or R&D within FMCG / personal care / cosmetics / consumer goods industry.
  • Formulation Understanding – Basic knowledge of formulation science and raw‑material functionality; understand how ingredients behave and interact to refine manufacturing processes.
  • Adaptability – Capable of performing under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Problem Solving Skills – Strong engineering analytical and root‑cause problem‑solving.
  • Organizational Skills – Strong organizational and planning abilities, independent thinking and attention to detail, high energy and self‑motivated attitude.
  • Teamwork Skills – Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and at all organizational levels.
  • Location Requirement – Willing to be based in Hanoi, Vietnam occasionally for on‑job training.
  • Language Skills – Good verbal and written communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese.
