Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure/platform engineering, with 2+ years managing teams.
• Expertise in service mesh technologies (Istio, Consul, or Envoy).
• Hands-on experience with AWS Kubernetes, API gateways, and cloud networking.
• Grasp of security fundamentals (mTLS, RBAC, zero-trust).
• Ability to debug distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Mentor engineers, foster a culture of ownership, and hire top talent.
• Increase adoption of Istio, ensuring it meets performance, security, and scalability needs.
• Work with service teams and platform teams to align service mesh capabilities.
• Solve challenges like latency spikes, sidecar overhead, and cross-group routing.
• Escalate issues for service mesh outages and complex debugging.
