PLANNING ENGINEER (CONSTRUCTION SITE - KL & JOHOR)

Job purpose
Responsible to plan, monitor and execute project activities in accordance to project schedule and budget given by the Project Manager.
Accountabilities
- To ensure that project is completed within contract period.
- To participate actively in the overall planning and programming of the project.
- To review and monitor performance of the project against the master / monthly program.
- To ensure that project objectives are communicated to the site team including sub-contractors and that the associated key actions are implemented and monitored for compliance.
- To take responsibility for client requirements on site in particular of all trade inspection; testing & commissioning; method & procedure.
- To confirm all site instructions in writing and keep records especially on variation details.
- To accept responsibility for quality on the project and to adopt QA/QC in conjunction to planning/ program such that the work can be expedited to reflect time and quality.
- Responsible to plan, monitor and execute project activities in accordance to project schedule and budget given by the Project Manager.
- To assist Project Manager (PM) & Construction Manager (CM) in executing and implementing projects and take the delegation of responsibilities in the absence of project/ construction manager.
- To work closely with PM & CM in ensuring development and completion of all plan and procedure required to implement the project.
- To work closely with PM & CM in preparing construction plan for the project.
- To liaise with client /client representative on contractual, project and construction matter as necessary.
- To liaise & follow up with subcontractor on work progress.
- To ensure all the site urgent matter/ issue being highlighted to pm & cm and to avoid any un-attend matter that will delay the whole project.
- To protect the company interest especially the contractual and commercial with client or subcontractor.
- To assist PM & CM to oversee the progress and monitoring the schedule closely.
- To attend the daily, weekly & monthly coordination meeting client and subcontractor.
- Any other reasonable duties assigned.
Job specification
Qualification
- Degree in Engineering in related field.
- At least seven (5-7) years working experience in related field.
- Minimum at least one (1) project in the similar capacity.
- Obtain valid CIDB green card.
Knowledge
- Good knowledge of construction standard operating procedures and proficient in Microsoft office.
Skills
- Able to interpret technical information and documents; analyse and solve technical engineering problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skill.
