A leading medical center in Penang seeks an experienced Physiotherapist to perform assessments, provide treatment, and supervise junior staff. Responsibilities include patient education, adherence to guidelines, and participation in service quality initiatives. Ideal candidates should have a degree in physiotherapy, 4 years of experience, and a commitment to professional development. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to work independently, including weekends and holidays.
Perform independent physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and documentation for patients across various conditions.
Ensure all physiotherapy services follow hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based practices.
Provide clear patient education, rehabilitation plans, and follow-up instructions to support recovery.
Supervise, guide, and support Newly Qualified Physiotherapists (NQPs) to maintain consistent and high‑quality care.
Assist in clinical reviews, competency assessments, and on‑the‑job training for junior staff.
Participate in clinical and administrative meetings to enhance workflow, patient safety, and service quality.
Handle and report clinical incidents promptly according to hospital protocols.
Ensure smooth daily operations, including monitoring equipment, treatment rooms, and resource usage.
Work closely with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to support coordinated patient management.
Review patient feedback and support service improvement initiatives.
Participate in CPD activities, in‑service training, CME sessions, and special interest groups.
Lead the physiotherapy team during Sundays and Public Holidays.
Contribute to departmental quality improvement projects, audits, and risk management activities.
Support community or public education programs related to physiotherapy services.
Perform other duties or ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.
Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association.
Registered with the Malaysian Allied Health Professionals Board.
Minimum 4 years working experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
Strong evidence‑based clinical assessment and treatment skills.
Ability to develop or maintain specialized clinical interests/skills.
Good knowledge in Cardiorespiratory, Musculoskeletal/Orthopaedic, General Medicine (Geriatric, Cancer, Women’s Health, Paediatrics), and Neurology.
Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently.
Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Patient, empathetic, and emotionally stable when handling patients.
Willing to work weekends, Public Holidays, and participate in on‑call rotation.
Committed to continuous learning and professional development.
