Job description
Overview

PV Farm inspector is based at Bestari Solar ("Project") located in Bestari Jaya, Selangor ("OnSite"). The role is responsible for all project sites including up to the connection point of BSSB Interconnection Facility (IF).

To be involved in the construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements by monitoring of the contractor’s QAQC implementation and documentation as per the EPCC requirements.

To assist the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) officer by reporting safety incidents, issues and practices done by the Contractor in relation to construction stage.

To assist in testing and commissioning activities of the Project during construction stage.

To perform daily routine inspection, repairs, preventive and scheduled maintenance activities of the Project equipment/installations as assigned in accordance with Contract requirements and prudent practices.

To monitor, report and assist on improvement of operating equipment/installations to ensure reliable and dependable quality services with minimum disruption to operation.

To conform to statutory and legal requirements such as OSHA, FMA, EQA, ISO 9001/14001, OHSAS 18001, Employment Act, Electricity Supply Act 1994, etc.

Authorized person for Permit to Work (PTW) during construction and operation of the Project.

Oversee daily construction activities on ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications and update Supervisor, Project Engineer, Project Manager and GOM&PM when required.

Assist and liaise with BSSB minority shareholder when required.

Functions / Duties
SITE SUPERVISION
Construction and Commissioning Stage

Assist the Supervisor on construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements by monitoring of the contractor’s QAQC implementation and documentation as per the EPCC requirements.

Raise Non-Conformance Report (NCR) or Observation Report (OR) on any safety violation or quality issue.

Assist SHE Officer by reporting safety incidents, issues and practices done by the Contractor in relation to construction stage.

Execute the inspection activities of the Construction Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) activities by comparing the collected data with the Contract requirements, OEM recommendations and standards.

Assist in testing and commissioning activities of the Project.

Assist the inspection works on the equipment, installations, spare parts and special tools delivery to ensure adequacy and correctness as per the approved list according to the EPCC.

Assist on reviewing and verifying the EPCC punch list as well as other close-out documentation.

Maintain regular reporting to the immediate superior.

Participate in technical training provided by the EPCC Contractor and OEMs.

To assist immediate superior in carrying out daily routine preventive maintenance activities and to ensure the Plant equipment/installations are maintained at its best performance and efficiency of the following but not limited to:

  • Perform maintenance works on inverters, combiner boxes, mounting structures, floaters and other equipment/installation in the Solar Plant.
  • Operate and maintain the Solar Plant in accordance to contractual obligations and prudent practices.
  • Record and register O&M activities for appropriate documentation and reference.
  • Execute O&M tasks based on OEM recommendations and standards in ensuring all the Contract requirements are met.
OUTAGE INSPECTION & SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE Scope

To participate and involve in planned outage inspection and maintenance activities prior, during and after as per Solar Plant’s Annual Outage plan.

EQUIPMENT/INSTALLATIONS SPARE PARTS INVENTORY Scope

To assist in identifying on-going critical spare parts requirement and to assist in maintaining adequate safety stock level to avoid operation and equipment downtime.

WORKING TOOLS INVENTORY Scope

To identify working tool requirement and maintain an inventory tool list and ensure tools are in safe working condition.

To maintain good inventory tool list as per assigned ownership.

To ensure tools are in safe working condition.

To report any damage and make request for repair or replacement.

INTER-DEPARTMENTAL SUPPORTING SERVICES Scope

To develop and foster a close working relationship with inter-departmental colleagues and readily to provide good supporting services at all times.

OTHER AD-HOC ASSIGNMENTS Scope

To perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills / Competency required
Qualification & Experience

Possess at least a Certificate/Diploma in Electrical / Electrical (Power) Engineering from a recognized and accredited local technical colleges/institutes/universities.

At least minimum of 3 years experience in solar farm.

Specialized/ Technical skills/ Knowledge required

Hands on with analytical and supervisory skills.

Team player.

Communication and reading skills.

Able to write and speak in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Knowledgeable in safety and health procedure.
