Photonics or Optical Engineer (Preferable Chinese Literate)

Responsibilities

• Manage the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for new products.
• Perform waveguide and optical coupling tests of passive components, and electro‑optical tests to characterize active optoelectronic devices and photonic integrated circuits.
• Work closely with other teams and departments on both in‑house, customer, and supplier projects.
• Identify opportunities in the test group to improve test capabilities and procedures to increase efficiency.
• Generate test reports with measurement results and detailed analyses in a timely manner.
• Contribute actively to the build‑up of test and characterization capabilities of the Photonics Test Lab, including maintenance of test set‑ups and jigs and calibration of measurement instrumentation, as well as software control and automation of the set‑ups.
• Manage the engineering test group and ensure all test developments follow a disciplined engineering process.
• Grow and develop a team of Test Engineers and Technicians.
• Own and control the test of new and recurring products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering and experience in LED manufacturing.
• Experience in semiconductor and optoelectronics sectors.
• Knowledge and experience in Photonic Technologies.
• 5+ years of experience with component testing and evaluation.
• Proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
• Graduate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience with high‑speed RF characterization tools, methods, and optical testing.
• Ability to analyze measurement data to extract key device performance features.
• Experience with programming for test automation.
• Proficient in working with large datasets and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong and effective communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Hands‑on experience with coherent communication systems and optical testing is preferred.
• Test experience on transmitter and receiver optical engine in Si Photonics.
