Responsibilities

• Check all medications supplied are according to the appropriate prescription with accurate labels and correct physical medications.
• Counsel patient on proper medication administration & technique (where applicable) and advise on appropriate storage conditions.
• Provide alternatives or suggestions on medication treatment where appropriate.
• Able to lead shifts and/or teams where required, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Provide high quality medicine information.
• Supply of Dangerous Drugs and Psychotropic Substances to internal departments.
• Ensure medications are stored and dispensed appropriately to maintain efficacy and quality.
• Adhere and prepare formulation in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice.
• Check the quality and/or sterility of the final product manufactured in accordance with the prescription or formulation.

Qualifications

• Possess a Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 3-4 years of hospital practice and with clinical experience.
• Ability to demonstrate good clinical pharmacy knowledge skills, clinical reasoning and judgment when assessing patient's pharmaceutical needs.
