Job Description
- Perform daily payout activities to both Shopee buyers and sellers on a daily or weekly basis by consolidating requests from internal teams and ensuring the proper due diligence performed prior to any payout activities
- Perform scheduled payout activities to other internal Shopee entities by consolidating approved requests from internal stakeholders and ensuring the proper due diligence performed prior to any payout activities
- Work with the business functions to maintain the payments pipeline, managing day-to-day responsibilities such as monitoring & researching the cause of payment declines, daily reconciling of payment processing statements for high volume transactions and monthly assessments of payment card fees
- Be an internal SME (subject-matter expert) in e-commerce payments processing to assist in solving daily payments issues creatively and effectively
- Partner with Product and Technical teams to solve problems, identify trends and opportunities for payments and payment channel integration optimisation and implement cost savings initiatives
- Actively participate in regionally or locally driven initiatives for process improvements relating to payment channel reconciliation
- Track, analyse, influence, and communicate key metrics to influence decisions and new payments initiatives
- Inform, influence, support, and execute initiatives focused on reducing payment costs and redundancies
- Rotational support on campaign days to ensure payment channel availability
- Ensure server and bank downtimes are managed adequately during campaign days by ensuring channel maintenance set-up or ensuring proper communication within internal teams to manage expectations
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the Business
Requirements
- At least 1-3 years working experience
- Analytical and strong attention to detail required
- Strong critical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working within a technology organisation
- Advanced Excel skills with knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) and Power Query (plus).
- Familiar with multiple payment channels and concept of MDR (Merchant Discount Rate)
- Excel (Vlookup and Pivot table) is a must, SQL nice to have
- Previous experience in payments is preferred
- Experience in fintech, banking or finance background a definite plus
- Strong communication and presentation skills a must (English preferred)
