Payment Field Operations Executive (Sales)

Position Overview
We are seeking a payment field operation executive/ manager with some experience in the payments space, enjoy being on the ground, building relationships, and making things happen. This role is based in various designated locations

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the adoption of Alipay+ solutions, including payment acceptance, brand exposures, in Malaysia. They will manage day-to-day interactions with local merchant partners and drive account success. The role involves extensive interactions with various local businesses and payment partners in the market and while a close working relationship with internal teams in Malaysia, Singapore and China.

This role is open for candidates based in the following locations (WFH Arrangement):

  • Northern (Penang, Ipoh)
  • Southern (JB; Melaka to be added later)

General Responsibilities

  • Relationship Development & Management.
  • Ensure merchants within the assigned area are properly set up for payment acceptance, including QR codes, POS devices, and terminals.
  • Conduct regular checks in key business districts and industry segments to improve payment success rates and usage frequency.
  • Collect and report issues faced by merchants in payment acceptance, and coordinate with technical or operations teams for resolution.
  • Provide merchants with basic training on payment processes to improve proficiency and engagement.
  • Assist the BD team in supporting Alipay+ projects with local merchant and key account partners management such as payment acceptance, campaign activation, on-going operational support.

Resources Alignment

  • Coordinate with cross-functional team to manage partnership relationships, execute projects, construct/improve our delivery platforms and ensure full risk & regulatory compliance. Collaborate efforts with growth team in order to achieve high performances and innovation development of solutions/campaigns for our partners
  • Manage payment-related materials such as QR stands, POS devices, stickers, and promotional items, including request, distribution, placement, and inventory tracking.
  • Ensure proper deployment of materials in line with brand guidelines and compliance requirements, and monitor their actual effectiveness.

Business Acumen

  • Track merchant payment acceptance data, monitor transaction success rates, identify irregularities, and drive timely resolutions.
  • Provide regular market feedback to support headquarters in promotions, campaigns, and payment optimization strategies.
  • Have entrepreneurial spirit at heart and have the ability to work under constant changing environments and keep enthusiasm and sense of responsibility. Demonstrate successful drive for growth by keeping up to date with new technology solutions, competitive development and landscape and how to leverage Ant Group ecosystem to win over competitions

Who We’re Looking For

  • Diploma or above in any discipline; candidates with 1–3 years of experience in payments, FMCG, or O2O industries will have an added advantage.
  • Comfortable using English and Chinese in daily work, with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Familiar with offline merchant ecosystems and has a basic understanding of the payment industry (e.g. acquiring, QR payments, aggregation).
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills, able to build trust with merchants and partners.
  • Data-driven mindset, with the ability to spot issues and opportunities from transaction performance.
  • Willing to work in the field and travel when required, with strong execution skills and a high sense of responsibility.
