A healthcare provider in Malaysia is seeking an Optometrist to perform eye examinations, provide clinical advice, and document treatment plans. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Optometry, a valid practicing certificate, and 3-5 years of experience in clinical eye care. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, addressing complaints, and overseeing maintenance of eye care equipment. Performing optometry services as per standard operating procedures and policies such as examine patients’ eyes to detect signs of injury, disease, abnormality or vision defect.
Providing clinical advice on visual problems and prescribe visual aids.
Performing effective communication and collaboration with all parties involved to ensure the best clinical outcome for the patients.
Document history including complaint and relevant symptoms, ocular health, medication usage, medical and family history, current vision aide if applicable, and any other pertinent data
Examine eyes using observation, and instruments to determine visual perception, acuity, coordination and focus.
Clearly document diagnosis and treatment plan, including referrals and management in patients’ medical records.
Anticipating potential risk and execute appropriate action to ensure safe environment.
Demonstrating operational knowledge of optometry procedure.
Addressing customer’s complaints promptly.
Responsible for monitoring of Planned Preventive Maintenance of eye care equipment.
Education Level:Bachelor Degree of Optometry
License / Certifications: Valid Annual Practicing Certificate & Registered with Malaysian Optical Council
Working Experience: 3-5 years’ working experience in clinical eye care industry
