Overview

British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Data Management Team Lead in Sunway City, Selangor.

This role is part of the Group’s Operations Data Management (ODM) team, to coordinate the global Material Master Data processes and activities effectively and efficiently, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all Material Master Data used in supply chain operations, factories and end markets. To ensure alignment to the global data management processes in BAT’s systems (SAP, Kinaxis Rapid Response, TMS and APO DC) used by all data users, ensuring that any issues with data integrity or misalignment between systems are highlighted and resolved by the relevant owners within agreed SLAs. To pro-actively handle the Master Data environment and apply effective housekeeping ensuring data accuracy and stability to support global plans, objectives and effectively service customers’ requirements.

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Data Analysts and Senior Data Analysts to deliver exceptional service to BAT stakeholders
  • Manage team data execution activities involving the creation, amendment and deletion of all Material Master data within the Global Data Management Team
  • Develop, co-ordinate, deliver training and coaching to the Data Management Team and other regional or local master data owners
  • Ensure that the material master data processes for creation, amendment and deletion are understood and owned across the Data Management Team, Operations, Factories and End Markets
  • Ensure that all documentation is updated in line with any business changes to data management processes
  • Monitor Incidents affecting Master Data requiring IT support and ensure resolution within agreed SLAs
  • Monitor data completeness and accuracy through weekly and monthly KPI and data quality reports, to drive improved data integrity
  • Ensure that key data is validated monthly to align with continuous improvement processes, ensuring master data accuracy and compliance within global data standards to the required level of accuracy
  • Lead team data cleansing activities to proactively identify missing or incorrect material master data and put corrective actions in place
  • Attend Focus Groups and data related forums providing insights and guidance to wider business users
  • Complete Business Impact Assessments for all Master Data changes / change requests for the Data Management Team
  • As a master data knowledge expert, contribute to global, regional and local projects as required on behalf of the Data Management Team and drive implementation of approved changes into BAU as applicable
Leadership
  • Lead team members reporting directly to you in a line manager capacity
  • Manage team activities and workload, ensuring priorities are set and timelines are met
  • Drive direct reports to deliver consistent results at a high standard and level of quality
  • Proactively drive critical metric and SLA alignment to ensure all targets are consistently met
  • Coordinate continuous improvements through optimization of processes within the Data Management Team
What are we looking for?
  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of SAP Material Master Data
  • Knowledge and understanding of Master Data processes, governance and controls under the Target Operating Model (TOM) and TaO is highly desirable
  • High degree of understanding of supply chain processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the impact of Central IT proposals/strategy on supply chain operations
  • Influencing skills: ability to engage, debate and reason successfully with peers, sub‑ordinates and immediate senior management
  • Highly numerate/analytical
