A leading aluminium alloy distribution company is seeking an Operations Manager in Johor, Malaysia. The successful candidate will manage production activities, oversee quality control, and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Operations Manager (Aluminium Manufacturing)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and oversee all production activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control, to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.

Supervise and coordinate the activities of drivers, including route planning, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize stock shortages, and reduce carrying costs.

Monitor production and inventory data to identify trends, anticipate demand fluctuations, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, procurement, and finance, to forecast production requirements, plan inventory purchases, and meet customer demands.

Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, quality guidelines, and safety regulations.

Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of operations staff, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Identify areas for process improvement and cost optimization, and lead initiatives to streamline operations and enhance productivity.

Manage relationships with external suppliers, contractors, and service providers

Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key performance metrics, operational challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

Diploma/Degree in business administration, industrial management, logistics, or related field

Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations management, preferably in manufacturing

Proven track record of success in managing production processes, inventory control, and logistics operations

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail

Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in manufacturing

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
