Job description

Are you ready to build operations that transform how Malaysian businesses work? ConnectB, recognized as Zoom's Platinum Partner and 2025 Asia CX Partner of the Year, is looking for an Operations Manager who wants to create scalable systems, lead a team from the ground up, and work directly with the CEO to turn meetings into measurable business results.

About ConnectB

ConnectB PLT is a growing B2B technology services company that helps Malaysian organizations transform meetings from discussions into tangible outcomes. Trusted by over 600 organizations, we deliver three core service lines: AI‑powered communication platforms (including Zoom) for universities, corporates, and government agencies; workflow automation and digital transformation solutions that eliminate post‑meeting chaos; and professional AV/video conferencing systems with ongoing technical support. We're strengthening our operational foundation to support sustainable growth, and we need the right person to build operations that scale.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Priority #1: Operational Excellence & Process Management. Build and maintain end‑to‑end operational workflows for renewals, service delivery, and client onboarding. Create standard operating procedures for all activities. Implement quality control measures and operational dashboards to track performance and identify bottlenecks before they become problems.
  • Priority #2: Client Operations & Service Delivery. Oversee client implementation projects for platform deployments, workflow automation, and AV/VC installations. Manage renewal cycles for enterprise clients. Coordinate with Customer Success and Account Executive teams on client transitions and value delivery. Ensure service‑level compliance and high client satisfaction.
  • Priority #3: Team Leadership & Development. Initially oversee our technical team member and support interns. Once you've established strong operational systems, build your own team by hiring renewal coordinators, operations coordinators, and administrative support. Conduct regular performance check‑ins and create clear accountability structures.
  • Priority #4: Resource Planning & Optimization. Plan team capacity based on project pipeline and client demand. Coordinate with vendors including platform providers, hardware suppliers, and implementation partners. Manage operational budget and track inventory including demonstration equipment and deployment hardware.
  • Priority #5: Knowledge Management & Documentation. Build a comprehensive operational knowledge base. Maintain training materials and meeting recordings. Create cross‑training protocols so no single person becomes a bottleneck.
Your Journey: From Learning to Leading

First 30‑60 Days – Strategic Immersion: You'll work directly with the CEO and team on renewals, implementations, and operations to understand how we deliver value. This isn't junior work – it's strategic learning that informs every system you design and hiring decision you make. By executing workflows hands‑on, you'll identify bottlenecks and build the knowledge needed to create scalable processes.

Months 2‑3 – System Building: Take full ownership of operations while documenting SOPs and identifying optimizations. Start receiving strategic coaching from our transformation consultant on process improvement.

Months 3‑6 – Team Building: Once you've proven you understand the business and built solid systems, begin hiring your team. Transition from execution to leadership, training your team in the processes you've created.

Months 6‑12 – Operational Leadership: Lead your team, continuously improve processes, and work with the CEO on strategic decisions. When the CEO gives high‑level direction, you bring back plans, execute them, and report measurable results.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience & Background: Four to seven years of operations experience in B2B services, consulting, technology, or professional services. You've run day‑to‑day operations and coordinated client deliveries, but you're ready to build systems that scale. You have some team leadership exposure – training, hiring participation, or managing one or two people – but this is your first time building a team from scratch. You understand B2B client operations, project coordination, and renewal processes.
  • Skills & Capabilities: Process‑minded and detail‑oriented with satisfaction from creating order and documenting workflows. Strong execution skills – you roll up sleeves and get things done. Multi‑threaded thinking to manage renewals, implementations, team oversight, and process improvements simultaneously. Clear communication to work with CEO on strategy, coordinate with sales and customer success, and manage direct reports. Comfortable with spreadsheet software, project management tools, and learning new systems.
  • Mindset & Cultural Fit: Learning agility and humility to learn our systems before making changes. Builder energy that sees our rebuilding phase as opportunity. Comfortable with SME environment – you want responsibility, autonomy, and real impact, not cushy multinational roles. Coachable and growth‑oriented, valuing mentorship as a development accelerator.
What Makes This Role Unique

You'll receive strategic mentorship two to three times monthly from our transformation consultant specializing in operational process improvement – executive‑level coaching focused on your development, not micromanagement. Once you've learned our systems, you'll build your own team by hiring coordinators and support staff with CEO final approval. You report directly to the CEO with no bureaucracy layers. You'll have genuine influence over how ConnectB operates and scales. You're joining an award‑winning organization recognized in the top one percent of providers in the region for technical expertise and customer satisfaction.

Working Arrangement

Full‑time office position at Menara Binjai, Kuala Lumpur, conveniently located next to Ampang Park LRT station, MRT Ampang Park, and MRT Persiaran KLCC. You’ll occasionally travel to client sites for implementations and distributor offices for training. We’re flexible with family emergencies but expect you to remain accessible online during working hours for internal and external needs.

Compensation & Benefits

RM 6,500 to 8,500 per month depending on experience. Full‑time permanent position with EPF, SOCSO, annual leave, and medical leave as per Malaysian Employment Act.

Interview Process

Three‑stage process: phone screening to assess basic fit and answer initial questions, face‑to‑face interview with CEO to discuss experience and cultural alignment, and final interview with our transformation consultant to assess operational competence and coachability.

How to Apply

Apply through Jobstreet with your updated resume and a brief cover letter (two to three paragraphs) explaining why you’re interested in building operations at ConnectB and what relevant experience you bring. You’ll answer pre‑screening questions to help us understand your background and ensure alignment before interviews.
