Job Description

The Operational Security Management Specialist will manage and lead support of business-critical cloud environments and on-prem infrastructure, used within our Operational Technology security service provision.

The Specialist is responsible for leading a global team of engineers and working closely with various internal teams to ensure the hybrid environment meets organization's needs and security requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provision and configure virtual and physical infrastructure, including computers, storage, networking, and security components.
  • Monitor the health, performance and availability of systems within the hybrid environment, identifying and resolving issues, and implementing solutions to prevent future problems.
  • Implement security controls, conduct audits, and address vulnerabilities to protect the hybrid environment.
  • Contribute to architectural change initiatives for the cloud environment assisting in selection of appropriate services, platforms, equipment and applications.
  • Input to continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Key Activities
  • Upgrade cloud-based systems and infrastructure.
  • Patch management of operating systems
  • Review scheduled backups and address backup failures
  • Create snapshots prior to other services performing upgrades to their applications
  • Review and act on any cloud optimizations for performance and cost
  • Address identified vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with Security Engineering and Cloud teams on any issue or enhancements
  • Collaborate with Directory Services team for Domain management
  • Create and maintain internal documentation relating to hybrid environment
  • Maintain hardware inventory and IP scheme relating to the hybrid environment
  • Basic configuration of firewalls for internal team use
  • Management of a Windows domain
  • Coordinate with team members on any testing arrangements needing to be built
Experience and Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of the Azure cloud platform and technologies
  • Expertise in working with VMs and hypervisors
  • Knowledge and application of security concepts and best practices.
  • Ability to understand firewall rules and interpret associated logs.
  • System and Application administration and associated documentation creation
  • Experience in troubleshooting communication network and application issues within a large enterprise hybrid network environment.
  • Experience of Identity and Access Management administration within a large enterprise environment.
