A leading manufacturing company in Penang is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee all day-to-day operations across multiple departments, including warehouse and production. The candidate will lead a workforce of 80–100 employees, ensuring maximum efficiency and safety while supporting growth targets. The role requires a minimum of 6 years of operational management experience and a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields. Candidates should have a strong background in lean manufacturing and excellent communication skills in English, Malay, and Mandarin.
The Operations Manager is the key leader responsible for directing and driving all day-to-day operational activities across warehouse, production, planning, quality, logistics, and facility operations. This role is critical in ensuring the organization operates with maximum efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness while supporting aggressive, long-term growth targets. The ideal candidate will bring deep operational leadership experience in large-scale manufacturing and warehousing environments, with a proven ability to manage 80–100 employees and oversee operations for a business generating over RM200 million in revenue.
Provide authoritative leadership over end-to-end operations including warehouse, production, planning, and logistics.
Lead, inspire, and develop a diverse workforce of 80–100 employees, including supervisors, technicians, warehouse staff, and production operators.
Define, implement, and enforce high-performance KPIs to achieve excellence in productivity, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
Drive a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and continuous performance improvement.
Ensure optimal production throughput, efficient workflow, and maximum resource utilization.
Champion Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, one-piece flow, and other structured continuous improvement programs.
Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, material planning, warehouse layout, storage systems, inventory accuracy, and stock compliance.
Collaborate closely with Procurement, Sales, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operational alignment.
Lead and control all operational expenditures (OPEX), ensuring cost-efficiency and productivity enhancements aligned with company targets.
Support the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and monthly forecasts covering manufacturing, manpower, and warehouse operations.
Manage full operational performance for a business unit generating RM200 million+ in annual revenue.
Enforce strict compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, fire safety, and internal governance standards.
Collaborate with QA/QC teams to uphold product quality, reduce defects, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Conduct risk assessments and lead robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to mitigate operational risks.
Partner strategically with Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Costing and Supply Chain to ensure superior delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
Lead weekly operations meetings, performance reviews, and provide timely, data-driven operational reports to the Country Director / VP Operations.
Lead site-wide improvement initiatives including capacity expansion, plant layout redesign, equipment installation, and process optimization.
Drive operational digitalization through barcode systems, ERP enhancements, data dashboards, and automation opportunities.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure seamless transition into mass production readiness.
Minimum 6–8 years of robust operational management experience in manufacturing and warehouse environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage 80–100 employees across multi-functional teams.
Proven success managing operations for a business valued at RM200 million or more.
Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing, production planning, and integrated supply chain management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related fields.
Exceptional leadership, team development, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Strong understanding of ERP systems, operational analytics, and performance metrics.
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills—especially under pressure.
Strong communication in English, Malay, and Mandarin (advantage).
High integrity, disciplined work ethic, and a results-driven mindset.
Hands-on leadership style with strong presence on the shop floor.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment with demanding deadlines.
Experience in industrial equipment, metal fabrication, assembly, or similar manufacturing industries is a significant advantage.
