Job summary

A leading IT solutions provider in Malaysia is seeking a Network Engineer to participate in developing and designing Enterprise Network Architecture, including LAN/WLAN concepts and WAN Routing. Key responsibilities include managing network incidents, implementing change requests, network monitoring, and mentoring junior team members. Ideal candidates should possess hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper products, have strong communication skills, and be adept with Microsoft tools. This role may require travel for project implementation and shift rotations.

Job description

1. Participate in developing and designing Enterprise Network Architecture including Office & Production LAN / WLAN concept.
2. Participate in developing & designing WAN Routing Concept.
3. Manages and support Network Incident tickets - Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating network issues with users.
4. Implement Network Change Requests such as for LAN, WLAN, or Firewall Rules.
5. Network Monitoring of network alerts and performance.
6. Manage Network Devices - Perform regular maintenance checks and software updates.
7. Maintain network documentation for configurations, topologies, or network procedures.
8. Manages and handles TAC and WAN Provider support tickets.
9. Travel Required for Project Implementation.
10. Mentoring and Coaching other Network Team members.
11. Keeps up to date with technology supported by the network operations team and ensures familiarity with modern technologies that may be supported by the operations team in the future.
12. Participate in Call and shift Rotation - including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Requirements

• Hands-On experience with Cisco, juniper, Fortinet, palo alto, ruckus and HP Aruba products
• Experience with Enterprise LAN Switching and Routing, NAC, Wireless deployment
• Experience with WAN Technologies and protocols such as SD-WAN and routing Protocols i.e. BGP and OSPF.
• Good understanding of Wireless LAN networking concepts.
• Good knowledge in the following key areas: Firewall, routing, Network access control, Wireless
• Hands-On experience in configuring network devices i.e. switch, wireless AP/Controller and Firewall.
• Familiarity with network hardware and software.
• Good communication in English and teamwork skills.
• Good in documentation and use tools like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel.
• High level problem-solving and communication skills.
