A leading financial institution in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Negotiator for Secured Collection & Recovery. The role involves managing delinquent accounts, securing payments, and negotiating with financially distressed clients. Proficiency in Mandarin and experience in collections within the banking sector are essential. The position requires maintaining records in a collections system and following up on customer queries. This is an onsite role based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Experience in collection/recovery within the banking sector preferred.
• Local or Singapore working experience is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers to secure payment of arrears.
• Negotiate loan workout arrangements to minimize credit losses.
• Execute legal actions to recover outstanding accounts when necessary.
• Maintain and update dunning records in the collections system.
• Follow up on customer queries.

Manage delinquent accounts with objective to regularise account and recovery of outstanding loans.

Job Description

• Contact customers to secure payment of arrears towards regularizing their accounts.
• Provide customers with clear and accurate payment instruction/ account information.
• Negotiate with financially distressed customers to establish optimal loan workout arrangements so as to minimize credit losses.
• Recommend and execute appropriate legal actions to recover account outstanding when necessary.
• Maintain and update all dunning records factually and timely into the collections system.
• Follow up customer queries and escalates to Team Manager if required.

Job Requirement

• Proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
• Good knowledge in collections management and legal workflow.
• Good knowledge in Unsecured Retail products and collections systems.
• Previous experience in collection/recovery within the banking sector is preferred.
• Local or Singapore working experience is highly recommended.
