Job Description

Your work ensures that system performance, service availability and operational health are measurable, transparent and actionable.

You will collaborate closely with internal customers as well as infrastructure, operations and engineering teams to refine requirements, build meaningful dashboards, configure alerting mechanisms and integrate new systems into the monitoring platform. A key part of your role is analyzing metrics and logs to support troubleshooting, detect anomalies and improve operational insight.

This position requires technical curiosity, structured problem‑solving and strong communication skills within a global environment.

Responsibilities

Implement and configure monitoring for infrastructure and cloud‑based services across the Würth Group IT landscape.

Translate internal customer and team requirements into effective monitoring profiles, dashboards and alerting rules.

Collect and analyze metrics, logs and operational data using observability tools (e.g., Elasticsearch stack, Grafana, Influx/Telegraf).

Ensure that relevant indicators for availability, performance and service health are captured and visualized.

Integrate new systems and applications into the monitoring platform using established templates and methodologies.

Contribute to continuous optimization of monitoring configurations to reduce downtime and improve operational insight.

Support troubleshooting by interpreting monitoring data and collaborating with operational and engineering teams.

Promote the value of monitoring and observability to stakeholders and support best‑practice adoption.

Support platform stability through configuration improvements, updates and lifecycle activities.

Maintain documentation, operational procedures and knowledge articles for monitoring and observability topics.

Qualifications

Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a comparable technical qualification.

Minimum 3 years of experience with IT infrastructure (on‑premise, cloud, containers or microservices).

Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools such as Icinga2, Nagios, Zabbix, CheckMK or SolarWinds.

Exposure to observability tools such as Elasticsearch, Splunk, Grafana, Influx/Telegraf or similar.

Basic scripting knowledge (Bash, PowerShell, Python) and familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible).

Understanding of cloud or container environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes) is an advantage.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret operational data for troubleshooting and optimization.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with international stakeholders.

Excellent English is required for global collaboration; German can be an advantage.

Independent working style combined with strong teamwork and willingness to share knowledge.

Willingness to collaborate closely with global teams, including occasional onsite exchanges at other Würth IT hubs for onboarding and team workshops.
