A leading healthcare provider in Malaysia is seeking an IT Support Technician to manage daily operations and provide technical support across its facilities. This role requires a diploma or degree in Computer Science or IT and a minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience. Responsibilities include monitoring IT systems, managing hardware and software support, and ensuring compliance with IT policies. Candidates must be proactive, capable of teamwork, and available for shift and standby duties.
Perform basic MIS support and maintenance within the facility, application support (CARE21, MCare21 CALIMS, EMRD, PACS, Asset 360, CALM (Care21 on Lite Mobile), PEP (Patient Portal), Oracle ERP and any other new software), IT Peripheral & other application support (printer, Ms Office, scanner, etc.), basic database support and maintenance (guideline from DBA & software maintenance team), basic IT Infra support and maintenance (server, network, etc – guideline from Infra team) and other related tasks.
Perform daily system health check and monitoring on servers, networks, storage, backups, etc.
Maintain the day-to-day operations in the hospital facilities and hospital network.
Provide Level 1 support of PCs, hardware, software problems, networks and etc and to escalate problem issues to respective teams such as Team Leader or Manager – MIS Support.
Support and maintain company’s internal IT infrastructure including end-users.
Ensure all calls from end-user are recorded in IT ticketing system and proper escalation on time to 2nd level or 3rd level of IT Support.
Responsible to all IT tickets raised from respective hospital and follow-up diligently on all open issues with Group Support, Implementation team, Infra, Software & Development and DBA.
Monthly review on the Ticketing based on SLA and status of the tickets. And to present to IT managers and HOD’s at hospital.
Responsible to all IT hardware (Servers, Network switches, AP, UPS, Laptop/Desktop & Peripherals) and conduct preventive maintenance (PPM) to ensure the hardware/software are working as efficiently.
IT Fixed Asset Management.
Antivirus monitoring of all servers/laptop/desktop and ensure all machines are updated.
Keep track of version upgrade and software licensing.
Assist in conducting key user training (KUT), end user trainings (EUT), and doctor trainings.
Assist in preparation of SRS (Software Requirements Specification) for new enhancements of a product.
Conduct SIT (Software Integration Testing), in-house software testing (UAT), and patch rollout activities for the hospital on HIMS.
Adhere to IT SOP Policies, completeness of IT Chores listing, and conduct yearly IT SOP audit in compliance with Columbia Asia hospital practices.
Assist on yearly IT Budget allocation with all HODs from facility or Management Office.
Assist to complete month end reporting to Finance and other required departments.
Involvement in ad-hoc projects, task, and new initiations from Columbia Asia.
Assist Manager, MIS Support & Team Leader, MIS Support in any other related duties as assigned.
Diploma / Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or its equivalent.
Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in support fields.
Have understanding and technical knowledge in PC/Laptop (Windows 10 & 11), Hardware and Peripherals, LAN/WAN, MS SQL 2018/2019, Windows 2016/2019 Server, MS Office 365 Suite, One Drive, Veritas Backup, SCCM Windows Server OS, Crowdstrike Antivirus, Active Directory, Microsoft Networking, TCP-IP, SQL Server, Load balancer and Firewall is an advantage.
Ability to travel and supporting other Columbia Asia Hospitals
Able to work on shifts.
Must be on standby 24-hours/7-days-a-week (rotation basis - weekly).
Positive attitude, meticulous, initiative, dedicated and a team player.
Detailed oriented and good in problem solving.
Ability to priorities and possess sense of urgency.
Have good skills in Microsoft excel and power point.
Able to do presentation during monthly meeting with HOD’s in the Hospital about IT KPI and quality indicator
