Job description
Overview
  • Provide services in UiTM Private Healthcare Sdn Bhd (known as UiTM Private Specialist Centre), a subsidiary of UiTM Holdings Sdn Bhd.
  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answering questions.
  • Assures high quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing and other governing agency regulations.
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Maintains a cooperative and good relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; and participating in team problem‑solving methods.
  • Daily / shift reporting to the Head Nurse of the unit such as patient progress, staffing issues, customer feedback, biomedical equipment, and disposable inventory by the Team Leader of the day/shift.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments/units for the company’s activities/programs when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities at Clinic Unit
  • Provide nursing care to patients from the point of registration till discharge from the specialist clinic.
  • Ensure the medical folders are ready for the clinic session with laboratory results are ready as required.
  • Set up and monitor medical equipment & devices such as patient monitors, oxygen delivery devices, and cannulation before clinic sessions.
  • Assist patient to Preliminary Room for vital sign check, height, and weight measurement after registration before consultant review in the clinic.
  • Assist and chaperone physicians in the clinic or provision of patient care.
  • Carry out treatment plan as ordered by consultant in charge including medication prescribed and investigation required.
  • Perform nursing procedures as written in Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Work Instruction (WI).
  • Carry out preparation for the patient prior to procedure including cannulation and blood taking and provide management of care for post‑procedure.
  • Responsible for sending patients to treatment units, investigation laboratories, operating theatres, or other areas and maintaining patient safety.
  • Collect and handle specimens, laboratory items, or pharmacy items, ensuring proper documentation and delivery to authorized personnel.
  • Responsible for disposable items and medication charges in HIS.
  • Key in the appointment given by the consultant in the Health Information System correctly and ensure the appointment card is given to the patient accordingly.
  • Responsible for informing the Head Nurse in Charge if there are any changes or cancellations of the clinic.
  • Ensure clinic cleanliness and safe environment.
  • Stock or issue medical supplies, such as dressing packs or treatment trays.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies including disposable items and medication.
  • Do various tasks, such as assisting with set up and maintenance of traction equipment, cleaning, or sterilizing equipment, and maintaining and repairing equipment.
  • Ensure all biomedical equipment’s inventory is updated and ensure biomedical devices are switched off before clinic closing.
  • Responsible for informing of any lost or damaged equipment/instrument to the Head Nurse In charge.
Requirements
  • Qualified SRN / MA with minimum Diploma in Nursing Science / Diploma in Medical Assistant and registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board / Medical Assistant Board.
  • Must have a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
