The Mechanical Technician works closely with operations teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability of equipment and machinery through effective maintenance and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate and report equipment and machinery-related breakdowns promptly and accurately.
- Perform and monitor corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Carry out routine maintenance of equipment and machinery in accordance with maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns as and when they arise.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues and improve system performance.
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance procedures, equipment configurations, and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist in developing and maintaining spare parts inventory management and support procurement processes.
- Ensure full compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies in all maintenance activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum SPM qualification with at least 1 year of relevant working experience, or Diploma in a technical or maintenance‑related field, with demonstrated progression of responsibility.
- Proven hands‑on experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and/or electronic systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance requests outside normal working hours.
- Willing to work on shifts, including weekends or public holidays as required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for basic reporting and documentation.
