What role you will play in the team

Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Integrity Engineer in fixed equipment and piping to join our team. The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur and support our business lines in Product Solutions or Upstream facilities globally. Depending on your level of experience, you will be designated as an entry‑ or mid‑level Mechanical Integrity Engineer. As a member of our equipment engineering team, you will be managing site mechanical integrity health by developing, deploying and executing global workflows consistent with the overall discipline vision and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

What you will do
  • Develop, and deploy integrity, static and corrosion management workflows to Product Solutions and Upstream business globally.
  • Provide corrosion expertise in the development of fit for purpose equipment strategies and integrity operating windows involving higher complexity corrosion mechanism.
  • Develop and optimise inspection plans and recommendations using data analytics.
  • Deliver overall integrity effectiveness and management which includes criticality assessments, consequence/complexity rating of fixed equipment, setting optimum task intervals including to local regulations/statutory requirements, timely review of inspection findings, and ever‑greening of strategies.
  • Deploy and execute static expertise assessment for in‑service fixed equipment and piping.
  • Develop and leverage cutting‑edge tools and digital techniques to improve the delivery effectiveness in driving overall asset improvements.
  • Provide regional oversight and stewardship of integrity work product metrics for quality, effectiveness, and efficiency in achieving business unit/manufacturing site objectives.
  • Lead coordination and communication between various global centres, managed service providers and business affiliates for various aspects like knowledge transfer, sharing learnings, skill management and maintaining business relationships.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to an agile and flexible working environment, continuously stay abreast of latest developments in industry standards/practices, bring in learnings/experience to challenge and improvise company work processes/practices.
  • For Mid‑Level experience engineer:
    • Provide technical leadership and drive cross collaboration to enable the above on a global scale.
    • Maintain highest level of expertise in technical discipline and be acknowledged as a technical expert.
    • Promote innovative solutions that maximise value and support global business priorities.
    • Serve as designated expert reviewer and provide TQ endorsement for work products/recommendation delivered by TC and MSP engineers.
    • Serve as a technical mentor and continuous on‑the‑job guidance to young engineers in the team.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Material Engineering or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in refinery or petrochemical or upstream oil & gas facilities related to:
    • Inspection & corrosion discipline OR
    • Fixed equipment mechanical integrity related discipline OR
    • Asset integrity project management activities.
  • Ability to garner technical insights from large engineering data sets using analytical tools and concepts.
  • Working knowledge in mechanical design, selection, fabrication and quality assurance of pressure equipment, heat exchangers, piping systems, valves, and pressure relief devices.
  • Working knowledge in key sections of ASME Sec Div. 1/2, ASME Sec V, ASME Sec IX, ASME Sec II, ASME B31.3 / B31.1 / B31.4 / B31.8, ASME PCC‑2.
