Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Shah Alam is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to prepare technical drawings and deliverables. The candidate will coordinate project activities, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and work with project teams and suppliers. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry. Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Malay is essential for liaising with clients and suppliers.

Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

• To prepare deliverables such as technical drawing, layout drawing, engineering data and other relevant documentations.
• To coordinate & provide technical support for project activities.
• To involve in the design, quality assurance, supervised installation & commissioning.
• Conduct site visits and technical evaluations to ensure proper mechanical system implementation.
• Assist in troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause identification for mechanical issues.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with industry codes, safety regulations, and best practices.

Qualification & Competency

• Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, industry standards, and regulations such as ASME, API, ISO 9001, and AWS.
• Experience in conducting inspections, testing, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Ability to prepare and review QA/QC documentation, including Inspection Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, and Material Approval Submissions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Proficient in both spoken and written Mandarin, English and Malay. Must have relevant experience and be able in dealing with China supplier.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to multi‑task and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willing to travel locally and overseas based on project basis.
